We are currently in the process of constructing two new sites which we hope will be completed by the end of 2017. This site will remain online but will no longer be updated and all new submissions will be published on the new sites.

The new sites are online and you can track their progress by clicking on the following links

A site of remembrance and a comprehensive guide to the military cemeteries and memorials around the world

This site contains photographs of all 940 cemeteries in France and Belgium of 40 or more burials visited by Sidney C. Hurst whilst compiling his 1929 book "The Silent Cities".

All of these cemeteries have been personally visited and photographed by ourselves.

The site also contains images of over 3500 military cemeteries and memorials from all around the world. We are continually updating and improving our images.

This website is entirely funded by ourselves, however, if you have enjoyed the site or found it useful and would like to make a donation toward its continued upkeep and evolution, please do so by using the secure link below. Many thanks.

If you would prefer to donate by cheque,

please Contact Us

Our virtual war memorial
